In just three years, CPJ has installed over 1,000 pieces of donated equipment in over 100 sites. We recondition the equipment, place it, help recipients learn how to use it and provide ongoing support. We work with our local school system and with many community service organizations. Meet a few of our customers:
..."Rosa,
a high school senior, was born without arms. Her school will not let
her put
the keyboard and mouse on the floor. She now has a
computer at home with the
mouse and keyboard on the floor. The next
step is to track down voice recognition
software in Spanish for her."
..."Rosaura is a college scholarship recipient.
Rosaura's mother has a third
grade
education and her dad made it to the fourth grade. They have no indoor plumbing.
Yet, Rosaura is maintaining a better than 9.0 grade
point average on a scale of ten.
She brings the laptop we gave her to
school every day."

everything, all

CPJ provides equipment to:
• kindergarten through grade 9 schools (mostly rural),
• kids
with physical or mental limitations that interfere withregular school
attendance, and
•
university scholarship recipients from poor families.
Hardware
is critical, software is important, but the key is
ongoing hands-on coaching by mentors.
